Our Fundamental Beliefs

GOFAMINT London believes in the Holy Bible as the blueprint and sort of Constitution for Christians. We do all we can to better understand the teachings and instructions as intended by God and act in line with whatever the Bible says on any issue.

Our core beliefs are summed up as follows:

We believe that

The Holy Bible was written by people as God inspired (II Tim. 3:16-17)
There is only one God (Deut. 6:4)
Mankind is sinful and needs God (Rom 3:23)
God's plan to rescue mankind from doomed evil path is through Jesus Christ (Jn. 3:16; Rom 6:23)
Jesus Christ is the Messiah to save mankind from sin (Rom 10:9)
We are only saved by grace and not by any good we did/do (Ep. 2:5, 8-9)
One must turn from anything God dislikes and make up for wrongdoings where possible (Ezek. 33:14-15)
Water Baptism (for people who believe the gospel) as a testimony to their Salvation (Matt. 28:19)
Holy Communion (aka the Lord’s Supper) - served to those who have chosen to follow Jesus Christ (LK. 22:15-19)
Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 19:1-7; Eph. 5:18)
God directs the Church through the Spirit-filled leaders (1 Cor. 12:28; 1 Tim. 3:1-13)
Fruit of Spirit (Gal. 5:22) - things a person does to show that they actually know/walk with God e.g. love etc.
Gifts of Spirit (I Cor. 12:1-2) - signs showing that God is working through someone e.g. miracles
Balanced giving to the Church and to the needy as well as living right (Luke 11:42; II Cor. 9:6-8)
Marriage for life between a man and a woman through holiness, love and forgiveness (Gen. 2:18;24; Matt. 19:9)
Obedience to laws of the land (Rom. 13:1-2)
Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and will return someday (Acts 1:11; I Thess. 4:16-17)
Reality of Heaven and Hell (Rev. 20: 14-15; 21:1)
There will be a New Heaven and a New Earth (Rev. 21:1)
The Kingdom of God - only for people that please God (Matt. 7:21)
Eternity in the Kingdom of God - no sickness, sorrow or death there (Rev. 21:4)
